Tickets for opening and closing ceremonies of Sochi Olympics sold out. The second phase of ticket sales for Sochi Olympics events and ceremonies was launched on October 11 at 12:00 Moscow time. Within the first hours the fans bought out tens of thousands of tickets including all available seats at the opening and closing ceremonies. There are no more even the most expensive tickets for 50,000 and 37,000 rubles each.

Now, the only possibility to attend these events is to get tickets from Games partners and sponsors. Seats to Russian national ice hockey team games, semi-finals and final of the tournament were sold out right away. The highest tickets for one of the most popular competitions of the Games cost 34,000 rubles. Ticket price has not changed since the sales began on February 7. The minimum price was 500 rubles (for example, skeleton competitions). More than 40% of the tickets cost less than 3000 rubles and 45% of all tickets sold on 11 October cost up to 2 000 rubles.

The most active buyers were from Sochi, Moscow and Krasnodar. Those, who intended to watch Olympic Games should manage to purchase a ticket just in 25 minutes. If they failed to do so, the ticket was put back for sale.

The third phase of the sales will start on February 7, 2014 and will last throughout the duration of Sochi Winter Olympics.
