November 2 will see the 2nd annual charitable music NochlezhkaFest in the A2 Club in St. Petersburg.
The famous Boris Grebenshchikov, Zhenya Lyubich and the bands Zorge and Nogu Svelo have been announced among the festival performers.
By the way, the musicians regularly support Nochlezhka (i.e. “hobo jungle”), which is the oldest public organization for helping homeless people in Petersburg. All funds raised from ticket sale will be donated to the biggest hobo shelter in St. Petersburg. With the help of lawyers and social employees of the organization the people living in the Nochlezhka shelter manage to solve their problems, and most of them have restored the normal way of living. In 2012 only the shelter was housing 221 persons.
As the club website reports, the cheapest ticket (costs 800 rubles) will cover the expenses of 3 days of a homeless person’s accommodation in the shelter, whereas the most expensive one (2200 rubles) will waive expenses for 9 days.
It is a reminder that the first NochlezhkaFest was held last year and raised more than 650 000 rubles. These assets sufficed for two months of the shelter’s work.
