October 18 saw the unveiling of a monument to the Egyptian thinker, writer, historian, and literary critic Taha Hussein in the territory of the Museum of Local Lore in Staritsa, the Tver Region.
The Taha Hussein monument is the sculptor and art critic Osama el Serui’s gift to Staritsa as a token of love and gratitude. He made it all himself, up to the pedestal establishment. Not a single ruble was spent on it from the town or region budget. Osama el Serui is an excellent messenger and propagandist of the Russian history and culture in the Arab realm and wants Russia to know the culture and history of his remarkable homeland as well.
Another such monument to Taha Hussein was set up on October 18 in Cairo, and one more copy of it will appear in Moscow soon.
