The State Oriental Museum in Moscow has opened Rasim Babayev's exhibition In Search of Truth.
The exposition presents about 60 works by Rasim Babayev (1927 - 2007), one of the largest Azerbaijan artists of the 20th century. His art is well-known not only in his homeland, but also far beyond it. The works by the artist excel in plastic completeness and special lyrical philosophical intonation.
Subjects of his works are diverse: fantastic characters - devas and divas, who are playful and stunning at the same time, magic birds, caravans of decorated camels, beauties, simple-minded old men and crafty, coquettish grandmas, and even the primogenitors of mankind Adam and Eve. The artist also resorted to calligraphic compositions, where, as well as in other works, he used various techniques: tempera, acrylic, oil and even bitumen.
The exhibition will run till November 10, 2013.
