450 thousand inhabitants of Siberia were connected to the Internet via optical technologies of "Rostelecom". The number of subscribers of "Rostelecom" OJSC in the Siberian Federal District connected to the Internet via GPON and ETTH optical technologies exceeded 450,000. The greatest number of customers connected via optical technologies live in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (about 101 thousand), Novosibirsk Oblast (over 92 thousand) and the Altai Territory (about 54 thousand).
In addition to connecting new subscribers, "Rostelecom -Siberia" transferred about 100,000 customers from xDSL technology to GPON and ETTH optical technologies, at that, 13,000 subscribers has been transferred since the beginning of this year, as the company reported to Tayge.info. The change for optic fibre is free of charge. The connection via GPON and ETTH technologies is so far available to the residents of Krasnoyarsk, Zabaikalsky and the Altai Territories, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk and Tomsk Oblasts, as well as the Republics of Khakassia, Buryatia and Altai.

Domestic long distance service provides about 50% of the company's revenue, and international long distance calls provide about 25%.
