About 3 thousand volunteers from the Kuban State University will go to the Olympic Games in Sochi.

      The governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev discussed the issue of preparing the volunteers for work at the Olympic Games in Sochi by the University in the course of the collaboration with the rector of the Kuban State University Mikhail Astapov.

      "I know that Kuban State University has a strong student volunteer movement. You are preparing almost 3 thousand Olympic volunteers” - the head of the Territory noted – “We all want them to properly represent our region at the Olympics". According to the press service of the governor, the rector of the Kuban State University said that the work of the volunteer centre had been going on for over a year already and was nearing its completion. 7 volunteer centres among the 26 centres throughout the country are based on Kuban universities.

      Tkachev expressed his confidence that the Games will give a powerful impetus not only to the development of the Kuban sports, but to the economic and social life of the region in general. There should be more projects of such kind in the Kuban, both of all-Russian and international level.
