The resident of Khabarovsk will be tried for extremism in a Social Network "VKontakte". The young man posted the song promoting hatred towards other nations on his page. It is not the first time when the Prosecutor`s Office of the region holds the 26-year resident of Khabarovsk criminally liable for a crime of an extremist nature. The case against him for riotous statement is also being considered in court. This time, according to the press service of the ministry, he was caught inciting national enmity. The young man placed the song "Russian revolt” of the band “TAZ” in his profile in the social network "VKontakte". The song was previously determined as extremist by the court on prosecutor's citation, as it promotes superiority of the Russian nation over other nations and raises national hatred and enmity. The sentences in both cases will be made by the Zheleznodorozhnyi District Court of Khabarovsk.
The increase of extremist websites, the use of the Internet and social media by extremist groups and individuals to propagate hate speech and incite racial violence, and the increased number of incidents of racist violence and crimes prompted by racist content on the Internet remain to be a vital international problem.
