Brown Bear Held Settlement in Kemerovo Region in Awe Over Night

Another incident of a bear showing up to people occurred in the Yaya Settlement of the Kemerovo Region.

The state of emergency was declared at night on November 6: the locals were terrorized by a brown bear who stepped out from taiga. It was only by the dawn that the people succeeded to get rid of the unexpected brawler.

The local police got several signals about the noticed animal.

The first of them arrived from a local around midnight. The man was driving a car in the Komsomolskaya Street, when the bear ran out to the carriageway and attacked the moving car. The driver managed to elude the animal. Field investigators and the district police officer started patrolling the rural streets.

Other alarm signals started coming by the morning. Thus, a tenant of one of the houses at the outskirts of the settlement told that all night long he had heard dog barking and bear growling, and after the dawn found out that one side of the fence had been broken.

In the center of the settlement, in Anzherskaya Street, locals became eyewitnesses of how the animal turned a food waste container over, the police reports.

By the dawn the night brawler left the settlement. Following its traces the police officers established that the bear went to the wood along the river bank.
