Do Some Squats to Receive Free Moscow Metro Ticket

An unusual ticket machine which dispenses passes for workouts appeared at the Vystavochnaya station of the Moscow metro this week.

The machine was presented on Friday by several Olympic champions and a huge support group, as a part of a promotion campaign for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi and a healthy lifestyle as a whole.

The machine scans and counts your squats in a special area in front of its screen. The going rate is one squat per ruble, with 30 squats in two minutes getting a passenger a one-time ticket worth 30 rubles ($0.90).

The project will end on December the 4th. During that period, special promoters with a medical education will be explaining the principle of the machine's operation and controlling the health condition of exercisers.
