An unusual ticket machine which dispenses passes for workouts appeared at the Vystavochnaya station of the Moscow metro this week.
The machine was presented on Friday by several Olympic champions and a huge support group, as a part of a promotion campaign for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi and a healthy lifestyle as a whole.
The machine scans and counts your squats in a special area in front of its screen. The going rate is one squat per ruble, with 30 squats in two minutes getting a passenger a one-time ticket worth 30 rubles ($0.90).
The project will end on December the 4th. During that period, special promoters with a medical education will be explaining the principle of the machine's operation and controlling the health condition of exercisers.
