November 14 will see the opening of Shimon Okshteyn’s exhibition Dialogues in KGallery of Arts in St. Petersburg.
Within twenty eight years of life in New York the Russian born American artist Shimon Okshteyn thanks to his talent and interest in the new environment and culture managed to take his significant place in American art.
Works by Shimon Okshteyn are kept in collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum. They make an integral part of collections not only of the largest collectors, such as Martin Margulis and Werner Schneider, but also the Hollywood stars, such as Madonna, Gregory Peck, Ted Turner and many others.
Experts from The Whitney Museum of American Art at the Approaching to Objects exhibition placed the artist’s work side by side with the American art classics, such as Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Christo.
The exhibition runs till December 12.
