Far East may become a zone. Rogozin proposes to rename the Far East.

      The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin proposed to rename the Far East. "I do not understand the phrase "Far East”. How do the residents of Vladivostok call themselves, do they live in the Far East? Is it far for them? It is our native East" - Rogozin said at the "Tekhnoprom" forum in Novosibirsk on Friday.

      Among the new names proposed by Rogozin are: "Pacific Zone" or "Pacific Region". “In the beginning was the Word, or as Russian proverb says “as you name your (region) so it will sail”, - Rogozin noted.

      Deputy Prime Minister also stressed that people should not relate this region to “far”, but treat it as “an integral and highly prospective part of our united Russia”.

      The Deputy Prime Minister added that the construction of the spaceport in the region will attract the entire aerospace industry there.
