The sociologists have decided to create a positive image of Russia in the eyes of its citizens. The largest foundations of public opinion research - WCIOM (The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center), FOM (Public Opinion Foundation), Institute for Marketing Research "GfK–Rus" and the Foundation for Public Opinion Research ‘Vox Populi’ - have prepared the collector "Russia surprises". Several thousand copies of them will appear on the shelves of bookstores in early December.
The book will contain sociological studies destroying the existing negative stereotypes about various aspects of life in Russian society. The experts have joined in order to help to improve the citizens' opinion about themselves, the country and the processes occurring in it with the help of facts.
According to the authors, the today perception of current realities by both the government and the society is for the most part negative.
Probably, the web-site of the project will also appear soon. Although, the idea of "Russia surprises" is to improve the image of the country in the eyes of the Russians, some information will be prepared in English as well to be available for the foreigners.
