From this year, Moscow parks will start winter season on November 15. By this date, each park will prepare a rich cultural and sports program.

More than 130 skating rinks will be operating in Moscow. Besides skating rinks, in the parks there will work hockey pitches, ski slopes and snowboarding areas as well. Three ski slopes (two of 170 and another one of 225 meters) will start working on Sparrow Hills. The largest ice rink traditionally will open in Gorky Park. Same as last year, its area is 18 thousand square meters. Besides that, a children's rink will be opened for the first time. The skating prices range between 150 and 500 rubles, depending on time of day. Skates rental will remain free while their hypothecation value will be reduced from 1.5 to 1 thousand rubles. Pensioners can skate for free on Tuesdays, from 10.00 to 15.00.  "Interfax-Tourism" reports that a figure skating school, 800 meters and 3 kilometers long ski slopes, a lounge area with bonfire and a range of other facilities will open in Gorky Park for winter holidays.
