The exhibition Requiem. On History of Leaving Russia by Pavel Korin will be held from November 22 till March 30 in Moscow.

      For several years the Tretyakov Gallery has been preparing this large-scale special project. Painted portraits of the Requiem. Leaving Russia cycle have been restored for its opening.

      Pavel Dmitriyevich Korin (1892–1967) worked on the project of the painting Requiem. Leaving Russia for more than 30 years. He created a gallery of portraits, but did not start painting the large canvass.

      Pavel Korin's artistic concept was created under the impression of farewell to Patriarch Tikhon in 1925. Real prototypes of the painting characters, including the prelates of the Russian Church, beggars and monks who came to bid farewell to the Patriarch, were transformed by the artist into tragic symbols of historical collisions of the history of Russia of the 20th century.
