Moscow, the capital of Russia, has become 38th on a new list of the 50 best student cities in the world, sharing this place with Adelaide and Los Angeles.
Moscow dropped one position from last year’s QS Best Student Cities rating, prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds education company. The capital has become the only Russian city to be included in the list.
The ranking was topped by Paris, followed by London, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne and Zurich in joint fifth place. Boston was the best-scoring US city, coming in eighth, while New York is the 21st.
The rating includes cities that host at least two higher education establishments from QS’ World University Rankings, one of the world’s top three university rankings. The cities are ranked considering college ranking and education prices, total student population, quality of living and employment opportunities.
Moscow hosts six colleges from the QS university list, including Russia’s best performer, Moscow State University, which was rated 120th this year.
