During excavations in Supseh village near Anapa, archaeologists found two farmsteads that were built in 3rd century BC. To answer the question of who lived in these houses, they have to discover the remains of ancient inhabitants.

      Scientists put forward a supposition that farmsteads belonged to people who actively carried on the trade with Gorgippia. "There was a production, probably, of grain, which was sold to the city. Most likely, they were Hellenized barbarians", Maxim Menshikov, the head of archaeological expedition said.

      As archaeologists suggest, the farmsteads' owners were quite wealthy people. Searching the burials of residents, as well as household utensils, coins and other artifacts, scientists excavated almost 2 hectares of ground.

      The village of Supseh is located in the mountains with wonderful views of the Anapa. Supseh does not have free access to the Black Sea, but Anapa beaches can be reached by taxi or shuttle bus in just a few minutes. Supseh is suitable for active kinds of recreation, such as horseback riding or paragliding.
