Deputies from LDPR political party on Friday submitted for consideration in the Russian State Duma the initiave of Alexey Navalny, Russian opposition leader, to set one and a half million rubles ($45,800) the upper limit for service vehicle for Russian officials.
The bill which was earlier approved in the first reading by the lower house of Russian parliament provides for the maximum cost of three million rubles ($91,608) for service vehicle for Russian authorities. The Navalny's amendment, which in July 2013 gained 100,000 supporting signs on the Russian Social Initiative webiste, proposes even lower prices.
Vyacheslav Lysakov, the author of the starting initiative, has already promised that the bill will undergo major changes by the second reading. In particular, he plans to propose a varied system of service cars for different ranks of officials, and also a total ban on any modifications of such cars.
