Dzerzhinsky Monument Collapsed in Volgograd

Felix Dzerzhinsky sculpture crashed down during reconstruction of the sculptural composition To Soldiers of Law and Order in the territory of the Volgograd Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      According to some messages, the collapse was preceded with a bang, and people guessed that a gas cylinder had blown up. At the same time rumors spread on social networks about an attempt to explode police officers. However, the police department rejected this data immediately.

      The police report that the monument was planned to be restored, since it had serious cracks and damages. It was in the course of its dismantling that the sculpture of Dzerzhinsky crashed. No one was hurt. In the nearest time the monument will be restored.
