The VHUTEMAS Gallery is opening the Pythagoras Nets exhibition of the well-known Moscow artist Alexander Djikia.
The associate professor of the Architectural Engineering Department of the Moscow Institute of Architecture plays an unusual role here. The point is that throughout the years of his teaching work Alexander Dzhikiya has collected plenty of interesting methodical material to share with people.
This is, in particular, the analysis of historically developed types of parallel projection, illustrations to the theory of linear prospect developed by Brook Taylor in the 18th century, the lost technique of creating suprematist compositions, as well as a new proof (the 368th) of the Pythagorean theorem.
All these materials make a single whole as they surprisingly equally fit into the system of interconnected grid patterns.
Besides, the exhibition will present photos of the early 1980s and the 2010s, as well as a little collection of furniture designed by Alexander Djikia and made by the Cult House Gallery.
The exhibition will run from December 13 till January 15, 2014.
