On December 26 the Central House of Artist will open the exhibition of caricature paintings by Vasya Lozhkin.
The visitors will see the artist’s favourite characters, which he draws practically in every canvass. Comic cats, anthropoids, hares and other animals are created in the style of trash-and-punk painting.
It took some time for serious public and the "degreed" artists to understand and accept the creativity by Vasya Lozhkin (Alexey Kudelin is his real name).
Vasya knocked about from one exhibition center to another until he decided to introduce his works on the web. This is how fame and glory came his way.
Cat-painting with trash plots has made Vasya Lozhkin the people’s artist, though some people do not get it why his works are so amusing and interesting to people. “Nonsense, cheap caricatures, rubbish; it is clear why galleries did not accept him”- one can often hear such statements regarding Lozhkin's creativity. Though most of the viewers are attracted by the simplicity of plots on topic of the day.
The artist claims that his works have nothing to do with reality and he paints imaginary characters from the invented fantastic world. However, his painted realm very closely pinpoints real situations and realia.
The exhibition will run till January 12, 2014.
