Central Bank of Russia filed a bankruptcy suit against Master Bank.
The Moscow Arbitration Court has already registered the corresponding statement, Russian Legal Information Agency reports. From today, Sberbank and VTB 24, assigned by the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) as agent banks, begin paying insurance indemnities to the "Master-Bank" depositors. Agent banks will make the payments to certain depositor groups.
Sberbank will serve those, whose names begin with the Russian letters A to Ë. "VTB 24" will undertake the service of depositors whose names begin with the Russian letters M to ß. About 144.5 thousand depositors are expected to apply for the indemnities in the amount of about 31.2 billion rubles. At the same time 108.5 thousand depositors can claim 27.4 billion rubles in Moscow and the Moscow Region and 1.2 billion rubles are waiting for 6.2 thousand people in St. Petersburg. The Central Bank revoked Master-Bank’s license on November 20, 2013.
