Such large-scale projects as the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Baikal-Amur Mainline will pay off only in 15 years. At the same time, economic and social impact of such projects will be appreciated by the population of Russia much earlier due to the increase in tax revenues, the decrease in unemployment and industrial growth, as the president of “Russian Railways” OJSC Vladimir Yakunin declared at the “Transport week – 2013” held in Moscow.
This is an annual event involving the authority bodies of the country, the heads of federal transportation agencies, the representatives of transport sector of Russia and other countries, as well as the representatives of Russian and foreign business. More than 2,000 spokesmen take part in the VII International Forum and Exhibition “The Transport of Russia”. Round tables, discussions are held and the Agreements on the projects implementation are signed within the frame of the Forum. The list of projects includes: the construction of an arctic oil transfer complex, a sea coal handling complex, a multi-modal transport and logistics complex for container cargoes processing, as well as other equally large-scale projects.
