The Childhood Museum, the first one in Russia, will be opened in St. Petersburg from today.
The museum is housed in School No. 55 in Petrogradsky District.
The exposition will present a variety of rare dolls and valuable photos of legendary doll characters. The dolls collection makes most of the exposition. The collection of rare dolls was presented to the museum by the survivor of blockade Leningrad Nadezhda Murlygina.
In the hard time of World War II, during the blockade, Nadezhda Murlygina had to sell her favourite doll, but after the war she started looking for a similar doll and found it. Since then she started collecting dolls.
The visitors will see not only dolls, but also photos of well-known characters of the Leningrad television.
