Death Museum Founded in St. Petersburg

The Death Museum has been opened in the Nevsky Avenue in Petersburg.

The unusual cultural centre is meant to be a place for Petersburg dwellers and tourists to learn a lot of new things and reflect on the evanescence of human life.

The museum has been opened by the curator of the controversial Museum of Eroticism and the former Arkhangelsk mayor Alexander Donskoy. He also owns the MusEros in Moscow, The USSR Museum in Moscow and The Power Museum in Petersburg.

The exposition of the newly opened museum presents death masks from Vatican, “the spirit of death” from Hong Kong, fashionable skeletons from Italy, “gods of death” from Egypt and Nigeria, and cheerful skulls from Mexico.

Besides, the visitors of the museum will see gravestones, funerary urns, and other items used in funeral rituals of various countries and eras.

The museum owner admits that he is not yet sure whether the new museum will be successful. After all death is such a subject that people are afraid of and often try to avoid thinking about.
