Museum with Rarities from Kremlin to Appear in Moscow

A new museum with exhibits from storerooms of the Kremlin Museums will appear near the Red Square in two years.

The Kremlin's chief property manager Vladimir Kozhin explains that the building assigned for the future museum is presently under repair, with finishing works being conducted already. In the epoch of the USSR this building was the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.

Upon completion of reconstruction works a modern building will be built in the museum inner yard, Mr. Kozhin adds. It will house a concert hall, a cafe and a centre for educational projects. Altogether it will make a unique museum and educational complex displaying exhibits from Kremlin store rooms. The biggest part of the collection is now kept in improper conditions. As the official points out, priceless objects are stored on built-over-pipes shelves in cellars of the Kremlin.
