The Strugatsky Square to Appear in Petersburg

The toponymic committee of St. Petersburg has recommended to name an anonymous square in Moskovsky District of St. Petersburg after Arkady and Boris Strugatskys.

The square is located at the crossing of Moskovsky Avenue, Frunze and Pobedy Streets, not far from the Park Pobedy metro station. About four hundred meters away from this square there is the house, where Boris Strugatsky lived. It is located at the address 4, Pobedy Street.

At the end of 2012 - soon after Boris Strugatsky's death - the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg suggested naming some new street or square of Petersburg after the famous sci-fi writer. At the same time it was decided to put a memorial board on his house in Pobedy Street, but it has not been done yet. However, Library 2 in Moskovsky Highway has been named after Boris Strugatsky.
