The exhibition dedicated to Osip Mandelstam is timed to the 75th anniversary since the death of the poet.
It has been opened in Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House in Petersburg.
One of the greatest Russian poets of the 20th century, Osip Mandelstam was sentenced to five years of camp imprisonment for his “counterrevolutionary activity” and died in a transit camp in Vladivostok on December 27, 1938.
The memorial exposition presents his photos, autographs of his poems, correspondence of two outstanding poets — Anna Akhmatova and Osip Mandelstam - who were friends and dedicated poems to each other. All the exhibits belong to the museum funds.
