The Time to Collect Stones exhibition opens the new Stone Museum in the Church of the Spilled Blood.

      This museum is a tribute to the fact that a big number of different types of color ornamental stones were used in construction of Petersburg.

      The exposition consists of two sections. At the heart of the first one there are various rocks with beautiful and somewhat fantastic names. The second part of the exhibition presents amber works of art and monumental amber icons by the well-known artist Alexander Krylov, who worked on reconstruction of the Amber Room for a quarter of a century.

      As organizers point out, the visitors can see not only the stones, but also all the stages of transforming rock into a work of art, which is undoubtedly a captivating show.
