The first interactive wedding excursion was held in Kirillov's Museum of Town and District History. The local couple of Vitaly and Anastasia Deryagins were the first, who ordered the new service. The wedding program began with welcoming of newlyweds and “wedding ceremony” on the museum porch. Then, passing through the corridor towards the living room, the couple faced various "challenges".
The newlyweds were seated at the wedding table, symbolizing one of the stages of ancient celebration. Excursion took place in the interiors of the late 19th – early 20th century house. Museum of Town and District History is part of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum reserve. The permanent exhibition represents the interior of a residential town house, built in the late 19-th century. The interactive wedding service appeared in the museum not so long ago.
The work on excursion began last year and was done in two phases, one of which was the collection of information about the wedding traditions in Kirillovsky district, and the second was elaboration of the program itself. Now, on the day of marriage registration, the museum offers newlyweds to make a trip back to the 19th century and to learn how weddings were celebrated in Kirillov and what rituals and customs were observed at the wedding.
