New Year Comedy Yolki 3 to Set a Box Office Record

The comedy Yolki 3 has gathered over 600 million rubles within the New Year holidays.

This amount is only about Russia and CIS countries, apart from Ukraine, which has at least 65 million more to the film’s box office. As a result Yolki 3 is heading the list of top-grossing comedies of the last six years.

As for the entire modern history of the Russian film distribution in this category, Yolki 3 falls behind the sequel of the legendary The Irony of Fate, or I Hope You Enjoyed Your Bath. However, taking into account the fact that the film receives more than 40 million rubles a day, it can quite bypass its main rival, the Russia 24 TV channel predicts.

Yolki 3 went on general release in Russia on December 25 and at once became a smash hit, having collected 365 million rubles in the first weekend and received excellent feedback of the viewers.
