Rosnano and Renova develop solar cells for space at the cost of 120 million roubles.

      The Scientific and Technical Centre of Thin-Film Technologies in the Energy and Physical Technical Institute are developing new solar batteries for spacecrafts. As it is noted, the scientists are creating the technologies for production of solar cells on a flexible substrate made of polymeric materials. The new cells will have their specific characteristics improved which will make it possible to increase the working load of spacecrafts.

      The preliminary project cost is 120 million roubles. The project will be implemented within the framework of research and development work of Roscosmos.
