Exhibition in Memory of Traveler Yevgeny Gvozdev to Run in Moscow

The Boat Show exhibition in memory of the traveler Yevgeny Gvozdev will take place in Moscow.

He is the only Russian seafarer who alone made two round-the-world cruises.

The self-made Said yacht, on which Mr. Gvozdev made the second global cruise in 1999, will be transported from Makhachkala to Moscow. Now it is displayed in the foyer of Lyceum 39 in Moscow. During his life Yevgeny Gvozdev often spoke in front of pupils and told them about the travel.

The 74-year-old Mr. Gvozdev started his 3rd circumnavigation from Novorossiysk on September 19 in 2008. On December 2 he was lost in the Mediterranean Sea near the coast of Italy under unclear circumstances.
