Moscow authorities will have developed the concept of transport navigation of the capital by the mid-2014. In particular, the “Metro” sign and the design of the station titles at the metro stations entrances may be changed.

Also, changes may happen to the “Vestibule” sign on the metro doors and underpasses, the “Box Office” sign, the sign hanging at the escalator entrance, and other navigation elements of the metro. The system of underpass exits numbering will also be reformed, as well as the system of these exits itself. The new navigation system planned for the years 2014 - 2015 will require a version in Roman letters.

The concept development will presumable take about 150 million rubles.

The member of Marketers Guild Nicholas Coro noted that the today metro signs have no historical value. "The “M” letter is simply derived from typographic fonts, so signs and pointers ought to be made more interesting - he said. - It is important that the residents of Moscow should connect the new navigation not only with the visual changes, but also with the creation of a more passenger-friendly system in general. Any adjustments to the brand are aimed at the attraction of customers."
