The 85th anniversary since the birth of the great Russian actor, film director and writer Vasily Shukshin will be marked with publication of his earlier unknown works.

      They will be part of a nine-volume edition planned to be published in the writer’s homeland of the Altai Territory.

      A group of researchers-philologists of the Altai State University in Barnaul looked for these unknown works all over the country for a long time. The finds include the film script Odni (All by Ourselves), sketches for fiction and publicist works, letters, autographs, drafts and documents related to the life and creativity of the outstanding writer.

      The added edition will come off the press in July, 2014 – 5 years after Shukshin’s very well read 8-volume selected works.
