The tourist ski season in Sochi was closed ahead of schedule due to the arrangements of trails for the Olympics.

      From January 8, tourists are not be able to visit the city's winter resorts. On the eve of the Olympics the closed trails will be covered with artificial snow, all the necessary equipment and stands will be carried and installed there. Approaching Winter Olympics has ensured a tremendous interest towards Krasnaya Polyana ski resort, which will be one of the venues of the Games. This season, it was visited by tens of thousands of people, and just the last day Krasnaya Polyana cableways transported about 8,500 people.
