Ancient fort that will become the part of the exposition and a tourist complex near the historical monument of Pustozyorsk, the first Russian city above the Arctic Circle, will be reconstructed in Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Pustozyorsky fort is situated 26 km away from Naryan-Mar – the capital of Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Wooden fortress in the historic village of Ustye, located four kilometers away from the Pustozyorsk settlement will be built by a company from St. Petersburg, which won the tender by offering 97.3 million rubles, the lowest contract price. Andrei Toropov, the director of Pustozyorsk historical, cultural and Landscape Museum-Reserve said that the fort represents a five-turret fortress sized 60 to 60 meters in area. According to the historical sources it should be recreated on the area of 2 hectares. The house of voivode, chancellery, several barns, sheds and other outbuildings will be placed within the fort.
