The district court of the Zeya town has pronounced a sentence to a local dweller accused of illicit possession of precious metals.
As it turns out, the man found a plastic bag with a big nugget on roadside in August last year. At first he could not believe his eyes, but then decided to hide the cherry-pie. Having found no reliable secret place for it, he left the found gold in his car.
It remains unknown, however, how the Russian Federal Security Service officers found out about the gold nugget. The precious metal piece thrown by somebody and then found on the roadside was withdrawn.
Gross weight of the native gold makes 1223.08 grams and its cost is assessed at approximately 1.5 million rubles.
When rendering the verdict, the court took into account that fact that the man completely acknowledged his guilt, and that he takes care of his four minor children. So, the court sustained suspended sentence for two years.
