Tula: Sweet Outside - Brave Inside

 A tourist slogan of Tula oblast can become the motto “Sweet Outside - Brave Inside”.

      The government of Tula oblast addressed the public with the request to choose the best tourist slogan for the region. People can participate in the poll on the official web-site of the regional administration. “Choose the best slogan in your opinion or write your own version” - the report says. In particular, the following mottos were proposed: “Visit Us and Be Surprised” and “In Search of a Green Stick”.

      In addition the slogan of Tula oblast may become the phrase “Sweet Outside - Brave Inside” and “The Secrets of the Tula Region. In the Footprints of Russian History”. The winning slogan will be considered as one of the versions of tourist symbols of the region in 2014.

      The town of Tula has existed since at least the 14th century. A musical instrument, the Tula accordion, is named for the city, which is a center of manufacture for such instruments sold throughout Russia and the world. Tula is also renowned for traditional Russian pryaniki, cookies made with honey and gingerbread. In the West, Tula is perhaps best-known as the center of samovar production: the Russian equivalent of "coals to Newcastle" is "You don`t take a samovar to Tula." Tula Oblast has as many as 32 museums. Several are located in the administrative center of the oblast, the city of Tula, notably the Tula State Arms Museum, the Tula Kremlin, and the Tula Samovar Museum, the Tula Pyanik Museum. Another important cultural tourist attraction is the home and country estate of Leo Tolstoy, Yasnaya Polyana, located 12 km outside of the city of Tula. The region also has four professional theaters, a philharmonic orchestra, and a circus. Tula was awarded the title Hero City in 1976. Tula Kremlin with nine towers: Spasskaya, Odoevskaya, Nikitskaya, Ivanovskaya, Naugolnaya, Pyatnitskaya and others.
