"Along the path of Genghis Khan" tourist center opened in the village of Kurulga in Akshinsky District (Zabaikalsky Krai).
Construction of the "Along the Path of Genghis Khan" tourist center for Kurulga Hamnigans (Evenks assimilated by Mongols and Buryats) started in 2012. In last August there opened a Buddhist temple. Hamnigans live in Duldurginsky, Kyrinsky, Akshinsky and Shilkinsky Districts of Zabaikalsky Krai. Ethnicity numbers about 1.5 thousand representatives.
The tourist center provides walking and horse riding tours along special hiking trails, to the places of local deities. Travellers will be able to travel to the healing springs and to meet Buddhist lamas. In the future, there will appear guest and residential houses, bathhouses and yurts.
Zabaykalsky Krai is a federal subject of Russia that was created on March 1, 2008 as a result of a merger of Chita Oblast and Agin-Buryat Autonomous Okrug, after a referendum held on the issue on March 11, 2007. The administrative center of the krai is located in the city of Chita. Ravil Geniatulin, the Governor of Chita Oblast, was elected Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai on February 5, 2008 by the majority of the deputies of both Chita Oblast Duma and Agin-Buryat Autonomous Okrug Duma. He assumed the post on March 1, 2008.
