Sochi Olympics to be streamed by nine websites, the Ministry of Communications of Russia reports. 

      Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Alexei Volin met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegation, headed by Vice President Vincent Chupin to discuss issues related to the rights of broadcasting the events of the XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.

      Deputy Minister told the IOC representatives that during the Games, copyright protection actions will be carried out in several directions. First of all, maximum public attention will be drawn to the possibility of legal viewing of Internet streaming on nine certified resources, which have license and sublicense agreements and rights to stream the shows. Also, it was stated at the meeting that any unlicensed content appearing in the web will be monitored with special digital codes used in all data broadcasted from the Winter Olympics. They allow quickly locating and identifying the unauthorized content. Later, due to pirate streaming of the Olympic Games in Sochi, respective websites will be promptly blocked by rightholders' demand.
