Russian luger Albert Demchenko won silver, securing a fourth Olympic medal for Russia, in a fierce competition with Germany’s Felix Loch, who defended his title at the Sanki Sliding Center.
Loch stayed ahead of Demchenko by .48 of a second over four runs and is likely to dominate the sport in the future.
Making his record seventh Olympic appearance, Demchenko, 42, is expected to retire to pursue a coaching career.
