Russia Has Some the Longest Holidays in the G20 - Report

Russia's working people enjoy among the longest paid vacations and the largest number of official holidays of those in the world's leading economies, according to the Russian survey.

      A survey by Russia’s InterRating agency placed Russia fourth among the Group of 20 countries with a total of 40 guaranteed days off per year, behind Saudi Arabia (59), Brazil (41) and France (41). Russian workers enjoy 29 days of paid vacation and 12 national holidays, compared to Chinese working class which have a five-day paid vacation, workers in India and Indonesia get 12 days off, and South Koreans 15 days.

      The countries whose workers enjoy the least vacation time achieve the highest work productivity, according to another InterRating survey. China tops the list of most productive countries, while India is second and South Korea fourth.

      The United States remains the only major economy in the world where paid vacation is not guaranteed by law. Vacation time is given on the employer’s initiative and averages 14 days.
