Exhibition of Artist Oleg Molchanov Held in Moscow

The Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow opens an exhibition of works by the Merited Artist of Russia Oleg Molchanov today, February 12.

The exposition comprises paintings mostly created in recent years.

A successor of traditions of the Russian realistic landscape painting, Oleg Molchanov creates in his artworks a lyrical image of Russia, with subtle feeling and conveying of the poetry of native nature.

Oleg Molchanov has made numerous creative trips around this country and abroad. The exhibited paintings are fruits of thoughtful, laborious plain-air work.  His paintings depict reconstructed cathedrals and modest rural churches, majestic Baikal and the Russian North, forsaken villages and ancient towns with unique Russian coloration. The old little town of Plyos on the Volga River holds a special place in his creative work.

The exhibition runs at the address of 21, Prechistenka till March 2, 2014.

Here is personal website of Oleg Molchanov.
