Leningrad Oblast authorities are considering the possibility of construction of the National Village in the region.
The delegation of the region examined the experience of creation of the first Russian National Village in Orenburg oblast. A site for national farmsteads under this project was allocated in the centre of Orenburg. Among the ten most numerous nationalities living in the region are: Russians, Kazakhs, Ukrainians, Bashkirs, Mordovians, Germans, Chuvashs, Armenians, Belarusians and Tatars. Each farmstead has a separate area with museums of history, culture and everyday life, libraries with books in native languages, cafes and restaurants of national cuisines, editorial offices of newspapers in native languages, offices of national cultural centres.
As the first vice-governor of the region Konstantin Patraev reported, a platform for regional national holidays on the territory of the village in Leningrad Oblast will be open all year round. During the project implementation the possibility of the use of public-private partnership will be investigated. The creation of a National Village in Leningrad Oblast will be a good help for the development of ethno-cultural, external and internal tourism of the region.
