Two short track finals took place in the Iceberg Skating Palace on Saturday, February 15, the women's 1,500 meter and men's 1,000 meter, with the last one to become very sucessful for Russian athelets.
The men's competition completed the triumph of the Russians. Viktor Ahn won gold with the result of 1 min., 25.325 sec. Silver went to Vladimir Grigoryev (1 min., 25.399 sec.), and Dutchman Sjinkie Knegt took bronze (1 min., 25.611 sec.).
In women's competitions Olympic champion of the Vancouver Games Zhou Yang of China won gold (2 min., 19.140 sec.). Silver went to Shim Suk-Hee of Korea (2 min., 19.239 sec.), who has won three of four World Cup starts this season, and Italian Arianna Fontana took bronze (2 min, 19.416 sec.).
