Russia’s men’s curling team beat Germans in a game that was no longer relevant.

Alexander Kozyrev, Alexey Stukalsky and Pyotr Dron were stronger 8-7 but the victory won’t bring them any closer to the pedestal.

After nine games, they finished seventh, ahead of Switzerland, USA and Germany.

Curling is a new sport in Russia, and it’s just gaining ground.

If you want to make it to the closing ceremony, you can use Russia-IC services to book your flight and accommodation in Sochi. The Games will be followed by the Paralympics so you still have the time to make the arrangements.
