As the STV production company reports on its official site, work on digitizing films by the film director Alexey Balabanov is under way.

      February 25 this year marks the 55th anniversary since the birth of the outstanding Russian film director Alexey Oktyabrinovich Balabanov, who passed away on May 18, 2013. The head of the STV company Sergey Selyanov, who was his friend and producer of most of his films, suggests that this year be called the year of Balabanov - retrospectives of his movies run all around Russia and abroad.

      13 full-length feature films, 4 short-length films and the documentary From the History of Aerostatics in Russia directed by Alexei Balabanov are on the anvil. New technologies preserving the image and sound quality in the process of digitization will make it possible to screen the films on modern digital equipment in cinema theatres.
