Auction Preview of Russian Artwork Opened in Moscow

The auction preview of Russian painting and graphic art and antiquarian books of the 19th-20th centuries has been opened in the Central House of Artist.

The exhibition will run till February 25.

February 26 will see an auction of Russian painting and graphic art, including 165 lots. Together they look like a uniform collection: all the exhibits are of chamber type in antique frames.

The most expensive lot is the album of architect Schumacher’s fine prints depicting buildings of the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Sciences and Library. It is dated to 1741 and estimated at 3.3 million rubles. This monument of Russian book art is of high collection, historical and museum value.
