Russia outskated Japan to secure bronze in women’s relay, a victory that gave Russia a lead in the total medal count.

      Russia has repeated the record haul of the 1988 Calgary Games when it collected 29 medals.

      Russia now boasts 11 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals.

      The Russian team featured Olga Graf, Ekaterina Lobysheva, Ekaterina Shikhova and Yulia Skokova.

      The men’s team displayed a poor performance at the home Olympics, with Denis Yuskov and Ivan Skobrev missing out on medals.
