Rostov Municipality promises to arrange the Gorky Park by 2018 World Cup. It was reported at the city board meeting that in 2014-2015 the stone made aqueduct bridge, fountains and the observatory, located in the park will be renovated.
Besides that, the asphalt road, bust of Ostrovsky and Rostselmash heroes' bas-relief in the Nikolai Ostrovsky Park will be renovated as well. In the May 1 Park of Culture and Recreation, which is the historical Monument of Federal Importance, the historical part will be tiled, the alleys will be arranged and fences will be installed in the area with minor architectural forms. The long-discussed opening of the Rostov Museum was also included in the plan of 2018 World Cup preparations.
"The museum will be located in a house at 72, Moscow Street. It is planned to resettle residents in the new apartments in 2014-2015, and to begin building's reconstruction in 2016," the Head of Municipality's Direction of Culture Lyudmila Lisitsyna said. The building at 72, Moscow Street was found to be in an emergency condition in 2009, but till now it remains inhabited by tenants.
